The Anti-Truth Pact

Interesting report in the NYT. James Brooke seems to have the best understanding of the issues of any of the reporters from the major rags. It then discusses some of the absurdities that result when you make an agreement with the world’s most closed society to restrict the flow of information.

A month after South Korea allowed thugs to shut down Radio Free North Korea, South Korea itself is going to start broadcasting Kim Jong-Il’s “news” broadcasts for those liberal-minded netizens–the ones who shut down Radio FreeNK. Even Victor Cha, the oft-cited talking head who reflexively papers over U.S.-South Korean differences, admits that he has no clue what Roh’s people are up to.
