Will Vershbow Apologize? Vershbow Says He Won’t.

If this is true, I guess I’ll just have to throw up. How did these palace eunuchs conclude that there is anything to be gained by sacrificing clarity and truth in the face of Pyongyang’s rhetorical missives? Does it occur to them that this will be seen as yet more proof that we’re weak, and that our laws are negotiable? And most importantly, when they die, will they be buried as “whole men?”

Fortunately, not everything you read on Naver is true.

Update: This is something of a relief; The Flying Yangban, via Ambassador Vershbow himself, informs us that it’s not true:

Vershbow will not issue an apology. I was able to talk to him for a few seconds
this evening. He said “I will not repeat it. I will not retract it.” I take that to mean that an apology is right out and any kind explanation would only come in reply to a direct question. Even then, I suspect that he will decline to elaborate.
