North Korea Freedom Week 2006

Ambassadors John Bolton and Jay Lefkowitz are both scheduled to speak this year. Read more here.

I’ve done some — and not nearly enough — to organize and promote some of the events, and we are certainly in need of volunteers to put up posters and flyers. You can sign up to contribute time or money here. Yes, it’s tax deductible.

  1. I keep hearing about this so called famine in North Korea. Why is it that every time I look at a video of North Korea, even those from Western sources, the people appear well fed?

  2. How are you able to type these inane comments with all the drool falling out of your mouth onto the keyboard, mahathir_fan?

  3. When you add up all of Mahatir Fan’s posts around these sites, you come to several possibilities:

    1) Mental patient, briefly escaped
    2) George Orwell impersonator, showing how easy it is to turn white into black.
    3) Someone taking the piss at our expense.
    4) A North Korean with access to only government-fed information.

Maybe you only see [or read, or hear] what you want to see.

  5. I used to work in N Korea up until the end of last year.
The only well fed people I came across in all my time there worked for the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Everybody else looked like an malnourished chopstick.
