Silent Majority Back U.S.-Korea FTA

This is interesting. According to this new Joongang Ilbo poll, more than 60% of Koreans (voting age? registered voters?) support the FTA.

It would be nice to have some previous polling data for a baseline comparison, but it doesn’t seem that the Red Guards are really making headway on this one, and I have to retract my previous view that the FTA “is as good as dead for this year.”

Interesting polling numbers on North Korea, too, although I take the “liberal” view that food aid should not be linked to nukes. It should only be linked to monitoring and transparency for that aid.

By the way, how’s this for hard-hitting journalism?
