Stage 4 Watch

North Korea is telling its diplomats to send all but one of their kids home, putting each of them in a potential “Sophie’s Choice” predicament and suggesting that there may have been some recent defections among them.  Defections among North Korean diplomats are generally a well-kept secret, but any increase in defections would be a strong hint of  instability or  factionalism  by those in the know.
