The Reality of Famine: This report is two years old, but I don’t recall having seen it before. The witness is a Japanese-Korean who escaped after the last great famine:

“In winter during the peak of the famine in 1994, I remember seeing heaps of bodies being thrown off at a station. They had died on the journey. “There were dead bodies everywhere that winter, children, women and especially the old. “The bodies would be left over the winter. The police would come in a truck to collect them from petrol depots only when the snow started melting in the spring.”

The numbers alone don’t convey the horror. This is why I spend so much time talking about food aid.
